I don't know how to put into words,
These feelings I have.
I love where I am, and I love what I do,
But somehow, it just isn't enough.

I long for excitement, adventure,
Never knowing what's around the corner,
Never having time to wonder 'What if?'
But I'm stuck in this life.

You're saying all these things to me,
Content in your mediocre lives,
You can't understand how I feel,
You don't listen to what I'm screaming.

The days all seem to blend into one,
All the same, good old routine,
Never changes, never sways,
How can people live this way?

People grow up, fall in 'love',
Get married, have kids, have a job,
Every day they do the same thing,
Excitement is a thing of the past.

I'm not getting married.
I'm not having kids.
I don't want a regular 9 to 5.
Can anyone remember how to live?

I'm going to break out, live on the edge,
Someday I'm going to change the world.
You think I'm going to settle down?
You don't know me at all sweetie.

You never knew me anyway.

One day, I'll show you who I really am.

A Musing He watches as the roses that were once lovingly placed on the mantelpiece begin to shrivel and droop, turning browner than the dull dreary wallpaper he threw on the walls of his uncomfortably small house. With every rose that withers in that beautifully wrapped bouquet, he observes a part of his life wasting away too. Once, he might have tried to stop it, but now he is happily content to sit in his favourite weathered armchair, his constant companion through the years, and play the part of the onlooker to his own miserable life. After all, what is there to live for once the rest of the world believes you dead, even if only metaphorically?

Contrast What a contrast this world makes to the wishful daydreams of a small, innocent child. She wanders among the towering points of the pyramids, gazing at the regal posture of the Sphinx, bewitched by the charm and mystery of the ancient world.

A mystery, clouded in those sad grey eyes of yours, as you struggle to speak; your soul broken, like those pens we used to mutilate back in high school. The ink bleeding over our hands, like blood, bleeding from your heart. You struggle to stand.

In my mind, the dark rouge lightens as the blood runs clear, turning to blue with a tinge of green. It symbolises your determination, hard as steel, to be wContrast by ~Ruby-Raquelle

Creativity A careless whisper breaks the wall of silence surrounding this place. You turn to look at me, eyes bulging with fear as we crouch behind the smooth marble pillar. I turn from you not out of disgust, which is how you see it from your reaction, but to shut my eyes and fervently pray that somehow, the good Lord will get us out of this situation. Somehow, we need to find a way to get to our destination without being seen. I curse inwardly. Why must I lack so much creativity? You seem to echo my thoughts as you stare at me with that slightly inquisitive yet knowing look I always get from you.

I'm baaaaack! (or, I will be)

So I may have forgotten this place existed for a while. By a while I mean a year. Oops.

But magically I managed to stumble upon it again and now I'm really feeling the creative juices going! It's been so long since I've written - my life has been overcrowded with other things, mainly uni work and my new obsession with Christianity

I have exams in the next week, sadly, but then I will be going crazy and writing and singing and dancing and everything

obviously it'll only be the writing this website sees, but if anyone wants to let loose and boogie I'll be down. Haha.

I do realise that my last journal article before this one said exactly the same thing, so it'll be interesting to see if I actually manage to remember it all this time or if I just go off into la-la land again and forget about this wonderful place! Hopefully it'll be the former
